With everything going on during this once in a century health pandemic, future plans have started to change, and understandably, most couples have to think about postponing their wedding. However, even with everything going on, it is hard to stand by and watch your future be put on hold. So why wait? Don’t delay and consider having a social distancing wedding! River Oaks is now offering social distancing wedding packages, so you can still save the date but suspend the reception.
How would a social distancing wedding work?
A small guest list will be allowed to sit in on your wedding ceremony.
As of right now, per the Governor’s order, River Oaks can host weddings of up to 10 people. We will not allow more than 10 people to be in attendance at the ceremony per Executive Order 20-48. The guest list for those in attendance should be received 5 days in advance of your event. Unfortunately at this time, our buildings are not open, so you won’t be able to get ready on site.
Our wedding team is offering a two-hour social distance wedding package for up to 10 people that start at $375, which includes:
- A coordinator to be with your group the whole time (socially distanced of course).
- A private space behind our wedding gazebo to do a first look with your photographer (if you are seeing each other before the ceremony).
- A beautifully coordinated ceremony at our outdoor wedding gazebo with the sweeping views of the golf course with the Mississippi River Valley in the background.
What if you intended a guest list of more than 10 people?
Your virtual guest list can tune into a live stream of your ceremony from home.
If you initially intended to have a packed house during your wedding ceremony, don’t worry! Our social distancing wedding package also includes the option for us to live stream your ceremony to all the guests you intended to invite. Friends and family can still witness your special day by tuning into your virtual wedding on the internet from the safety of their own home.
A virtual guest list, including all guests’ email addresses, should be received 5 days in advance of your event. Virtual guests who submit their email will be provided a link via email for them to access and watch your wedding ceremony. Bring in your wedding cake and your music so your virtual guests can witness the cutting of the cake and your first dance from our wedding gazebo.
What else is offered at a social distancing wedding?
On top of a ceremony and a live stream of your wedding, our social distancing wedding package offers the choice of a sweetheart meal to-go. You will be able to choose two items from the following options, (additional to-go meals can be purchased for an additional charge):

- Vegetarian stir fry
- Alfredo smothered chicken breast served with rosemary roasted red potatoes and vegetable du jour
- Sockeye salmon served with red skin mashed potatoes and vegetable du jour
- 10 Ounce ribeye steak served with a baked potato and vegetable du jour
- Sockeye salmon and beef tenderloin served with red skin mashed potatoes and vegetable du jour

What about a reception?
Save the date and suspend the reception! Since you won’t be able to host a reception this year, River Oaks is also offering a first-anniversary option for all of our social distance weddings. We would love to have you come back for your first anniversary in 2021 for a proper celebration and reception with your family and friends. Book your reception in 2021 at the same time as you book your social distance wedding and receive $250 off your room rental fee for the reception!
